I recently returned from visiting my one month old baby nephew. He was super duper cute, but boy, babies are a lot of work!
He still sleeps most of the time, which is adorable. When he wasn’t sleeping, he was kicking his legs out, twisting his head, spitting up, crying, making noises, and communicating very imprecisely.
It made me reflect on how many of my behaviors I’ve been doing since birth–yawning, twisting in my sleep and stretching my legs–and just how precise I’ve learned to train these behaviors to be. So now I can say, “Hey people, FEED ME!” instead of “Wah wah wah.’ Pretty amazing.
I took a lot of pictures when I was there. Here are a few of my favorites:
(ps) If he looks like a big newborn, it’s because he is! He is in the 97th percentile for his height!
