With my husband out of town, and nothing to entertain myself, I couldn’t help but turn my attention to our old, dodgy, apartment. We moved in a year ago and it’s furnished with hodge-podge furniture that we’ve bought at IKEA over the years. (Yay for being poor students!) I haven’t done much with the apartment because, frankly, it hasn’t occurred to me too. When I get used to living in a place, I stop seeing what’s actually around me.
However, looking around, I could see so much potential in the apartment. Given that we are STILL poor students, it seemed that the easiest and cheapest way to make our apartment more interesting would definitely be a fresh coat of paint!
So, I rented a zipcar and picked up some paint and paintings tools. I ended up painting one wall in the bedroom and one wall in the living room. I didn’t paint more for utilitarian purposes mostly. I couldn’t move the furniture myself! Also, I was afraid of being overwhelmed by all the color.
Here are some of the pictures I took in the process and the final look. It turned out really well, and I’m very happy :-)
